I wish the world would work like this, were kindness overpowers evil... I love music and it's nice to see a story around the magic of it. So heartwarming, it was a nice place to hide from the ugly real world.

I have not yet read such a magnificently crafted piece of literature. This book’s excellence surpassed the short film easily, and I sincerely wish one day it could be turned into a full featured movie.

When I found out there was a book going into the world of the Makers, I knew I had to have it. This is a wonderul little story that I ate up from start to finish. I loved it and thought it was entertaining.

THE MAGNUM OPUS is a very imaginative work of fiction with a world populated by a mix of odd creatures and absurd monsters that call to mind The Wizard of Oz. Ario and his fellow Makers are undeniably adorable creatures, and in their own way, perfect heroes for a fantasy epic the same way that Hobbits are perfect for Lord of the Rings. The climactic ending is suitably riveting, suspenseful and inspiring.

Synopsis

In a time and world long ago forgotten, there existed an enchanted workshop. Within its walls, a magical creature called a Maker busily created the next of his kin. Upon completion, the creator was whisked away to join the rest of the Maker community. Meanwhile, their progeny was left alone to create the next Maker in a never-ending cycle of creation. That was, until the day an offbeat Maker named Ario was unable to complete The Making and broke their sacred chain of existence. Wracked with guilt, Ario embarked on a quest to right his wrong, but what he discovered was far more monstrous and miraculous than anyone ever imagined.

Viral video finds new life as a Young Adult novel.

Filmmakers Christopher and Christine Kezelos turn the viral success of their multi-award-winning short film The Maker, into a Young Adult fantasy novel titled The Magnum Opus.

After a successful international film festival campaign, The Maker won 23 awards, including a nomination for an Australian Academy Award. The film has since been viewed over 16 million times online.

The creative duo originally pitched a feature film version of their short to countless Hollywood studios and production companies. After much interest but no sale, Christopher and Christine decided to try another approach.

“We wanted to share our story with the fans of ‘The Maker’ and not have to wait for a film to be green-lit in order to do that”, says Christine Kezelos. “Yes it’s a different medium, but we believed that our fans would come along on the journey and enjoy the magical world we’ve imagined”

Christopher Kezelos sees the novel as an extension of the film. “We continue the tone and whimsical feel of the short while expanding upon the world. The Magnum Opus is an epic tale of self-discovery, the awakening of a people, and how united we can transform our world ”.

The Magnum Opus has won three industry book awards and is available in paperback and eBook format on Amazon, Apple Books, and the Google Play store.
