Synopsis: When a young Sasquatch is left orphaned in the woods, a gruff lonely farmer named Bill Jackson takes him under his wing and forms a strong bond with the friendly beast. To Bill’s delight, he discovers the Sasquatch has a special connection to nature, and over the years, they build the farm into a thriving business.
As the Sasquatch grows, he develops a love for PB&J sandwiches, shiny objects, and Latin novella soap operas. But while he embraces the human world, he sadly retires to the barn each night where he sleeps alone.
His life is changed forever when a female Sasquatch ventures onto the farm. As his world view is blown wide open, he must decide whether he’s a human or a Sasquatch.
The Sasquatch of Jackson Farm is a fantasy story about love, heartache, family, and letting go of the ones we love the most.
A Bigfoot Story With a Big Heart
Christopher and Christine Kezelos have followed up their multi-award winning Young Adult fantasy novel, 'The Magnum Opus', with a new heartwrenching but heartwarming coming of age tale, 'The Sasquatch of Jackson Farm'.
Turning the Jungle Book tale on its head, they've reimagined the classic format by having a human raise a Sasquatch. The story delves into the emotional family entanglements and dysfunction that is a part of the human experience.
While initially conceived as a film, Christopher and Christine saught to bypass the typical Hollywood pitch circuit and release the story on their terms. "We conceptualized the script idea as a low budget indie film. Only a few characters and one location," Christopher said. But even when the opportunity came to write the novel without any budgetary constraints on the story, I knew that we would lose the heart of this tale if we went big. Essentially it's a tale of the love between a father and son and how we all have to let go of the ones we love, someday, in some way."
"The essence of this story comes from the pain that I witnessed in my own family," Christine recalls. "Bill is based on my grandfather Bill. A hard man who cut himself off from his family and died lonely. I wanted to rewrite my own history to give both Bills a chance at redemption. We're only on the planet for such a short time. We need to make room for love, forgiveness, and healing, which is exactly what our world needs right now."
'The Sasquatch of Jackson Farm' has been awarded a B.R.A.G. Medallion, IAN Outstanding Novella Award, and CIBA Novella Semi-Finalist Award and is available on Amazon, Apple Books, and the Google Play store.
